Risk Disclaimer

Important: Moneta is an information tool only. It does not give financial advice and does not recommend any product, investment or course of action.

1. Information, not advice

All figures, charts, budgets, "safe to spend" amounts, subscription suggestions and alerts are estimates. They depend on the data your bank, exchange or statement provides and on the settings you enter. Data may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Always confirm important information with your bank or provider. If you need advice, speak to an adviser authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (check the FCA Register).

2. Crypto-assets

Don't invest unless you're prepared to lose all the money you invest. Crypto-assets are high-risk and largely unregulated in the UK. You are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong, and you will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or the FSCS. Take 2 minutes to learn more.

Moneta only displays balances from exchanges you connect with read-only keys, using third-party prices. Moneta does not buy, sell, hold or promote any crypto-asset.

3. Forex, CFDs and prop-firm accounts

CFDs and leveraged forex are complex instruments and carry a high risk of losing money rapidly because of leverage. A large proportion of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Consider whether you understand how they work and whether you can afford the high risk of losing your money.

Drawdown, equity and target figures for prop-firm or broker accounts come from statements you import or values you enter. Each firm applies its own rules. Always rely on your firm's dashboard to know whether a limit has been breached. Moneta's gauges are for guidance only.

4. Debt and money worries

If Moneta notices patterns that may indicate money stress (for example repeated overdraft use), it may show links to free, confidential, FCA-regulated debt-advice charities. Moneta does not give debt advice, does not assess your creditworthiness, and does not share these signals with anyone.

The Plan tab's money-pressure gauge, affordability comparisons, payoff planner and credit-health estimate are calculations from the figures you and your bank provide. The credit-health number is an educational estimate, not a credit score from a credit reference agency, and lenders make their own decisions. Letter templates are starting points: you are responsible for checking, editing and sending them. Choosing a debt solution (for example a debt management plan, IVA or bankruptcy) is a regulated activity. Speak to one of the free advisers below.

If you are struggling and feel unsafe, contact Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7).

5. No deposit protection

Moneta never holds your money, so nothing "in Moneta" is protected by the FSCS. Your deposits remain with your bank and keep whatever protection your bank provides.

6. Third-party services

Banks, open-banking providers, crypto exchanges, price feeds, Apple and RevenueCat are independent third parties. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or conduct.
